Some high-order stabilized solvers for incompressible fluid flows. Application to the Primitive Equations of the Ocean.

We present in this conference some stabilized solvers for incompressible Navier-Stokes like equations. We focus on high-order low-cost solvers, for Oseen, Navier-Stokes and Primitive Equations of the Ocean. These methods are characterized by stabilizing the pressure discretization, and a given single operator term (in particular the convection), with augmented Galerkin discretizations that include stabilizing terms specifically designed. These terms have a projection-like structure.

We perform the numerical analysis of these methods (stability, convergence and error estimates), based upon specific inf-sup conditions and the representation of the stabilizing terms by means of bubble finite element spaces.

We present some numerical tests that agree with the theoretical expectations, for Oseen, Navier-Stokes and Primitive Equations of the Ocean.
