Transient transmission problems with integral methods.

In this talk I will present a gallery of problems related to scattering of waves by penetrable obstacles. I will start with a transmission problem of acoustic waves by a collection of penetrable obstacles with different homogeneous material properties. With this problem I will give a taste of the analytical tools we are developing to analyze a fully discrete method (Galerkin in space, Convolution Quadrature in time) for this kind of problems. I will next briefly describe what to do when obstacles have non-homogeneous material properties (use FEM inside) and some preliminary results for the case when acoustic waves interact with elastic waves in a bounded domain.
