Discontinuous Galerkin time stepping for parabolic problems

We consider hp-Discontinuous Galerkin time stepping for parabolic problems (analytic semigroups). We prove exponential convergence w.r. the number of DOF in time w.o. compatibility conditions on the initial data. Numerical results confirm the estimates. Judicious choice of temporal shapefunctions allows for total decoupling and parallelization in the case of high order. This is joint work with D. Schoetzau (Minnesota).
